Variability and correlation studies in bacterial wilt resistant advanced tomato lines (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

نویسندگان

چکیده

Twenty bacterial wilt resistant lines including recently developed at CSKHPKV, Palampur (08) were studied to ascertain the extent of genetic variability, type and magnitude correlation between component characters & marketable yield, as well direct indirect impacts every character on yield. For all variables except plant survival, analysis variance exhibited significant differences across genotypes. Phenotypic coefficient variation (PCV) genotypic (GCV) values for lycopene content (80.581%, 80.148%), titrable acidity (73.666%, 71.219%), yield / (53.953%, 52.598%), fruits (34.994%, 34.050%), gross (34.094%, 30.553%), average weight fruit (30.558%, 29.13%), locules (28.549%, 25.050%), ascorbic acid (23.641%, 20.919%) respectively, found high different parameters variability. Marketable (95.043%, 45.633%), /plant (94.68%, 68.252%), (93.467%, 48.838%), (90.877%, 57.206%), (80.305%, 56.402%), (78.295%, 38.130%), (76.985%, 45.276%) with heritability advance. was significantly positively associated (0.734, 0.795), (0.774, 0.853), 0.742), pericarp thickness (0.693, 0.806), (0.381, 0.469), (0.347, 0.364) locules/ (0.284, 0.345) both phenotypic levels, respectively. Path showed that (0.589, 0.608), (0.278, 0.617) (0.382, 0.182) are three main had greatest positive impact respectively

Genetic Diversity in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and Its Wild Relatives

Tomato, ranking 1st in the world for vegetables, accounts for 14% of world vegetable production (over 100 million metric tons/year $ 1.6 billion market; (Food and Agriculture Organisation [FAO] 2010). Tomato is a rich source of micronutrients for human diet. It is also an acknowledged model species for research on fruit development and metabolite accumulation. The major goals of tomato breeders...

Identification and characterization of histone deacetylases in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)

Histone acetylation and deacetylation at the N-terminus of histone tails play crucial roles in the regulation of eukaryotic gene activity. Histone acetylation and deacetylation are catalyzed by histone acetyltransferases and histone deacetylases (HDACs), respectively. A growing number of studies have demonstrated the importance of histone deacetylation/acetylation on genome stability, transcrip...

In-Vitro Organogenesis in Tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum) Using Kinetin

This research was undertaken for optimizing simple and reproducible protocol on indirect regeneration in tomato using kinetin. The effect of kinetin for efficient callus production was studied and its results were interpreted. Hypocotyls and cotyledons were used as explants and effect on callus derived regeneration was greatly influenced by addition of kinetin in media. The individually positio...

Metabolic and Molecular Changes of the Phenylpropanoid Pathway in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Lines Carrying Different Solanum pennellii Wild Chromosomal Regions

Solanum lycopersicum represents an important dietary source of bioactive compounds including the antioxidants flavonoids and phenolic acids. We previously identified two genotypes (IL7-3 and IL12-4) carrying loci from the wild species Solanum pennellii, which increased antioxidants in the fruit. Successively, these lines were crossed and two genotypes carrying both introgressions at the homozyg...

Root-synthesized cytokinins improve shoot growth and fruit yield in salinized tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) plants

Salinity limits crop productivity, in part by decreasing shoot concentrations of the growth-promoting and senescence-delaying hormones cytokinins. Since constitutive cytokinin overproduction may have pleiotropic effects on plant development, two approaches assessed whether specific root-localized transgenic IPT (a key enzyme for cytokinin biosynthesis) gene expression could substantially improv...
